Description
The VWP-3000 Series of Vibrating Wire piezometers use the well-proven method of converting fluid pressures on a sensitive diaphragm into a frequency signal.
Frequency signals are particularly suitable for the demanding environment of Civil Engineering applications, since the signals are capable of long transmission distances without degradation, tolerant of wet wiring conditions and resistant to external electrical noise.
Key applications include measuring pore pressure in soils and rocks and fluid pressures in hydro-fractures and pump tests.
Models in the VWP-3000 range are:
- VWP-3000 (STANDARD) Standard construction with high & low air entry filters to measure groundwater elevations and pore pressures.
- VWP-3310 (STANDARD VENTED) Standard construction but vented to compensate for barometric pressure changes. Available with high & low air entry filters.
- VWP-3100 (HEAVY DUTY) Heavy duty body for direct burial in fills and dam embankments. Available with high & low air entry filters, standard and heavy duty cable.
- VWP-3200 (LOW PRESSURE) Low pressure version to measure groundwater elevations and pore pressures. Available with high & low air entry filters.
- VWP-3300 (LOW PRESSURE VENTED) Low pressure vented version to compensate for barometric pressure changes. Available with high & low air entry filters.
- VWP-3400 (DRIVE-IN) Drive-in version available for use with SPT rods.
- VWP-3401 (DRIVE-IN) Drive-in version available for use with 1” BSP adaptor.

Rated 0 out of 5
The In-Place Extensometer (IPX) offers automated monitoring of standard magnetic extensometer installations. The system is designed for a simple, adaptable installation with a single cable connection at the top of the borehole. Its large measurement range accommodates large levels of settlement or heave, and ease of adjustment means it can be reconfigured for changed site conditions such as embankment filling or cutting.

Drive-in piezometers, also referred to as push-in piezometers, are designed for installing in soft clays, organic or fine grained cohesionless soils typically with a SPT-N value less than 10. They are available with a CPT fitting or 1” BSP thread.
Depending on the depth and type of soil, they can either be pushed directly into the soil from ground level to the required depth or pushed into the base of a CPT test or drilled borehole.

The Nano range uses the same core platform as our other tilt sensors, so it can deliver a similar level of performance and reliability, all in a small and robust enclosure. Nanos have been successfully used in many applications, including:
- Tunnel distortion
- Tunnel heave/settlement
- Embankment slippage (used in conjunction with stake mounts)
- Structural movement
- Rail track heave/settlement
- Rail trackbed cant and twist

MEMS Tilt Beams are designed for attachment to structures, on either a vertical or horizontal surface, for the measurement of tilt or differential settlement.
They consist of a highly accurate MEMS sensor housed in a fully sealed enclosure which is mounted on a lightweight rigid GRP beam. This can be mounted onto the structure using special anchors. The GRP beam has a very low coefficient of thermal expansion meaning that thermal affects are minimised.
